Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant recently made his World Cup debut against England after getting selected in place of opener Shikhar Dhawan who had been ruled out of the tournament with a thumb injury.
Pant is rated quite highly by cricket pundits around the world as he has impressed everyone with his short Test career so far. Former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag believes that Pant would become a brilliant opener for India once Dhawan and Rohit leave the game in around 5 years’ time.
He said that India has the best openers in the world right now which is why the duo of Rohit and Dhawan would not be disturbed since they are at the top of their game. However, Sehwag predicted a bright future for Pant after a couple of years as he sees him smashing the bowlers at the top of the batting order for India.
