PCB asks for additional security for the team

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) for additional security, after clashes between fans and spectators happened inside and outside of the stadium during Pakistan’s match against Afghanistan.

The Pakistan team were also restricted to their dressing room, after the conclusion of the match, due to lack of security and fear of more violent incidents but after the arrival of additional security, Pakistani team was escorted back to their hotel.

Following the violent clashes, the Pakistan team security officer met the local organizing committee and ICC officials and demanded that the security be beefed up to prevent any similar incident in the future.

The International Cricket Council said in a statement: "We are aware of some scuffles among a minority of fans and are currently working with the venue security team and the local police force, West Yorkshire Police, to ensure there are no further incidents."
