England's all-rounder, Chris Woakes bowled brilliantly in the opening spell against India at the Edgbaston. England was defending a huge target of 338 runs and Woakes initial burst set England on track.
He put India on the back-foot right from the word go with his accurate line and length. He picked up the key wickets of Kayle Rahul and Rohit Sharma. Adding to his brilliance, was an unbelievable catch from him on the boundary.
Woakes ended his spell with the figures of 2 for 58. His contribution to the cause helped England to respawn their world cup campaign which was surrounded by many insecurities.
