Pop idol Rihanna added much-needed glitz and glamour to the ongoing World Cup as she turned up to support West Indies taking on Sri Lanka in the game at Chester-le-Street. Donning a white attire and sunglasses, Rihanna was vocal in her support for West Indies, who have had a tournament campaign to forget.
The Barbados-born singer was visibly attached to the game as she celebrated each boundary struck by the Caribbean batsmen with great zeal and expressed her disappointment whenever things did not go in the favour of West Indies.
Despite the star presence, West Indies were unable to emerge triumphant and a lone fighting effort from Nicholas Pooran was the only silver lining as they fell short of 23 runs. Later, Rihanna interacted with the West Indies squad and chatted with each player individually.
