The Sri Lankan cricket team has registered its 3rd victory of this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup after the West Indies batsmen faltered in the chase of 338. Young Avishka Fernando was the star performer for Islanders as he became the youngest Sri Lankan batsman ever to score a hundred in the World Cup.
Fernando is now the 3rd youngest centurion in World Cup history which is a big achievement as he impressed everyone with his sensible stroke play and game awareness. He scored 104 off just 103 deliveries as he hit 9 boundaries and 2 maximums during that innings.
According to statistics, no batsman in this year’s tournament has scored a century with a higher timing rating than Fernando who targeted the loose deliveries while being cautious against good length balls.
