The nightmare for the Windies cricket team continues in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as they lost another close-contested game against Sri Lanka. In chase of a mammoth total of 338 runs, Windies fell short of just 23 runs.
The Caribbean boys lost their way in the middle when they lost 5 wickets with just 150+ runs on the board. But it was Nicholas Pooran and Fabian Allen he gave the Windies a new spark with their blistering innings.
Sri Lanka kept their nerves and opted Angelo Mathews to bowl after a gap of 2 years. Mathews delivered when Sri Lanka dearly wanted him, he got rid of the dangerous Pooran which shifted the game in favor of Sri Lanka. Lasith Malinga also bowled a match-winning spell and took 3 wickets. Remember Windies and Sri Lanka, both are out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
