Sri Lanka's former captain, Angelo Mathews finally broke shackles on his bowling when he rolled his arm over against the Windies when his team needed him the most. Sri Lanka had to finish the quota of the 5th bowler and for that, they opted for Mathews in the latter half of the innings.
Mathews got rid of the dangerous Nicholas Pooran on the very first ball he delivered. Pooran edged a wide bowl in the hands of the keeper and shifted the game in favor of Sri Lanka.
It was the first time since 2017 that Angelo Mathews bowled in ODI format. He had given up on his bowling a while ago but he came back to bowl when his team needed him. Mathews has taken 115 wickets for Sri Lanka in 210 ODI matches he played.
