India’s contest against England held immense significance to Pakistan as a victory for the men in blue could have paved the way for Pakistan’s semi-final qualification. However, it all ended in a bad mood as India was defeated at the hands of hosts England by a margin of 31 runs.
In the 38th game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, England’s 337 never looked safe as after a slow start, India kept hunting for target. However, the scenes were bizarre in the last few overs where the required rate kept jumping and Indian batters were happy to rely on singles.
All this has fumed Pakistani fans and former pacer Waqar Younis is no exception who clearly lashed out at Indian team on his official Twitter handle. The 47-year old vilified India’s dismal performance and unnatural display of game as they fell short of England’s total.
Questioning sportsmanship of Indian players, Waqar also added that he isn’t bothered about Pakistan’s semi-final qualification as the boys in green will keep their heads high for registering a stunning comeback in the ongoing mega-event in England and Wales.
