India’s defeat against England in the 38th game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament has made life difficult for Pakistan who recorded a stunning comeback in the ongoing glitzy cricket gala. Coming to the business end of the game, India needed around 100 runs in the last 10 overs. However, the approach in last few overs amazed everyone as there was a clear lack of intent which helped required-rate become unachievable.
This, in turn, dented Pakistan as now they are left with only two options. Fans of boys in green would need to pray for New Zealand’s victory against England and if that doesn’t happen Pakistan will have to beat Bangladesh by 200-250 runs and hope for same if New Zealand gets defeated at the hands of hosts. Obviously, the second scenario seems a far cry meaning thereby, that Pakistan is in desperate need of New Zealand winning their last league game.
Holding massive significance and hopes, England will lock horns against New Zealand on July 3 at Chester-Le-Street while Pakistan’s last league fixture is scheduled to be played against Bangladesh on July 5 at Lord’s.
