Living on the edge, Pakistan was meant to get knocked out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament before the boys in green turned the tables. Winning their last 3 games, Pakistan now possess some chance of making it to the semi-finals of the ongoing cricket gala in England and Wales.
While the whole of Pakistan celebrated the needed victories, wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal wasn’t really impressed as he opined that Pakistan created needless panic which took the game deep. The Lahore born brought forward a sensible argument as he opined that the boys in green should have looked to improve their net run-rate which would have Pakistan sitting in with a good chance even if New Zealand gets defeated against hosts England.
“Pakistan missed the opportunity of winning big against New Zealand. We could have won the game at least 5 overs before, if not 8 to 10 overs. Some sloppy running between the wickets took the game to the last over. Same happened in the Afghanistan game which should have been sealed earlier,” said by Kamran Akmal as he reflected on Pakistan’s victories against Afghanistan and New Zealand.
