Manjrekar questions Dhoni’s effectiveness in big games

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been under the pump of late due to his recent batting form as he has not been able to finish the games as well as he used to. His sluggish innings during the chase against England raised quite a few eyebrows as it lacked intent.

Former Indian Test cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has questioned Dhoni’s effectiveness in big games as he revealed a statistic which shows that the wicket-keeper batsman has batted at a much lower strike rate in the World Cup as compared to the warm up games in which he batted at a higher rate against the spinners.

Since 2015, Dhoni has seen a remarkable decrease in the scoring rate as he now bats at a much slower rate as compared to the average batting rate in particular phases of the game around the world.
