The Pakistan U-19 cricket team has continued its good run in the ODI series against South Africa as it has taken an unassailable lead of 5-0 in the 7-match series. Irfan Niazi and Naseem Shah were the star performers for Pakistan in the 5th game at Pietermaritzburg Oval.
Batting first, Pakistan U19 put up a total of 300 for 8, thanks to the brilliant batting by the middle order. After a decent half-century by skipper Rohail Nazir, Irfan took responsibility as he finished the innings with an impressive 122 off 125 balls, comprising of 15 boundaries.
The Proteas were not up to the task in the run chase as they only managed to score 184 runs before getting bowled out, eventually losing the game by 116 runs. Young Naseem Shah was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets for just 21 runs while being fully supported by Mohammad Wasim, Aamir Ali, and Saim Ayub with 2 wickets each.
