Highlights: Match fixing once again?

England’s fixture against India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament might be three days old but the questions it raised are still fresh and unanswered. In a crucial contest which held immense significance to arch-rivals Pakistan, India was found with a reckless approach particularly towards the death overs of the innings.

Now another video is making rounds on social media where all-rounder Hardik Pandya dived in a weird manner to misfield a well-timed shot of Joe Root. Majority of the Pakistani fans aren’t ready to buy the argument brought forward by Indian skipper Virat Kohli as they believe that India underperformed to dent Pakistan’s chances for semi-final qualification.

Even the commentators used the word ‘baffling’ to describe India’s strange approach where Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav kept looking for singles despite required-rate surging. In the last 10 overs, India scored 72 runs while losing a solitary wicket which made the game suspicious. Indian management has shut down all the speculations about the men in blue intentionally losing the game. However, cricket pundits are yet to be satisfied as the game is still the red hot topic of the cricketing circles.
