West Indies' left-handed batsman Nicholas Pooran, who scored a brilliant century in his side's narrow defeat to Sri Lanka, vows to improve on the lessons learnt in the disappointed World Cup campaign. India will be touring West Indies to play three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests, starting from August 3.
The 23-year-old scored his first one-day international century but fell for 118 with Sri Lanka going on to beat the West Indies by 23 runs at Durham.
"This hasn't been a successful tournament for us but as sportsmen, you fail more than you win and this has been a learning experience. Hopefully, when we play our next series against India we can start heading in the right direction and restore pride in West Indies cricket," Pooran said.
The left-handed batsman, who made his ODI debut in February, has been hailed by current stalwarts like Chris Gayle as a future star and has also been compared with former West Indies captain and batting great Brian Lara.
