Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has announced retirement from all forms of cricket after being ignored by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the World Cup squad twice.
The former middle-order batsman made the announcement on Wednesday as he thanked all his teammates and mentors for helping him throughout his journey. Rayudu was among the backup players for the World Cup, but he was overlooked as the replacement of all-rounder Vijay Shankar.
Iceland Cricket tried to tease Rayudu on the occasion as they suggested him to settle in Iceland and play for them in the future since he is not being looked after very well in India. They also posted a picture which listed all the required documentation in order to apply for immigration in Iceland.
The post also questioned Agarwal’s inclusion in the World Cup squad by mentioning his bowling average which way is higher than the bowling average of Rayudu.
