Kemar Roach & Carlos Brathwaite turn the match for West Indies

West Indies won their last match against Afghanistan by 23 runs and finished the tournament on a high note. In the reply of West Indies’ 311, Afghanistan fought hard for their 288 but at the end, Carlos Brathwaite and Kemar Roach turned the match in West Indies’ favor.

Roach took back to back wickets of Mohammad Nabi and Samiullah Shinwari and Brathwaite took the important wicket of Rahmat Shah who was batting well on 62.

Asghar Afghan tried to take the attack to the opposition bowlers as he played a brisk innings of 40 runs. Asghar’s wicket was also taken by Carlos Brathwaite who enjoyed a good spell of bowling taking 4 crucial wickets for his team.

Afghanistan failed to win a single match in the tournament and it has been a great learning curve for the young Afghan team.
