Pakistan have faced a dearth of quality batsmen but the upcoming crop of youngsters is gradually filling in the vacuum. Amidst this backdrop, another Pakistan batsman is rising in stature as teenage batting sensation Haider Ali has been scoring prolifically for Pakistan Under-19 side.
The 18-year-old has dominated the South African counterparts in the ongoing tour to the rainbow nation. Pakistan’s junior team is yet to lose a game in the 7 matches which has seen them already seal the fate of the series. Haider’s extravagant credentials earned him the praise of South Africa U-19 coach.
“We are playing against an opening batter here called Haider Ali, who I believe is of international class and that’s not an excuse,” Chris van Noordwyk, the bowling coach said.
