Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been under the pump of late due to his sluggish batting in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as he has lacked the intent that he usually has while finishing games against Bangladesh and England.
Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has come out in support of the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman as he has urged everyone to cut Dhoni some slack as he has proved himself to be the greatest finisher ever in cricket.
“People haven't learnt by now to not doubt MS Dhoni. I will say this over and over and over again. You don't doubt greatness. And MS Dhoni is a great. He is the greatest finisher to ever play to this game,” he said.
The World Cup winning captain also said that India should persist with Dhoni for the remainder of the tournament as his experience might come in handy in the knockout games.
