While Pakistan produced a number of strong cricketers, a greater number sits disappointed to never become the player they meant to be. One of those stories includes the name of bowling all-rounder Riaz Afridi who happens to be the brother of Pakistan’s teenage pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Riaz Afridi rose to fame during Pakistan’s successful ICC Under-19 World Cup 2004 tournament as the 34-year old player claimed 19 wickets at 13. Recently, he was found having a go at former wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan for destroying his cricketing career.
Sharing his frustration, the solid domestic performer said that he’s not scared to say it openly that the 47-year old backed away from his promises and contracts. The Peshawar born added that Moin doesn’t even address the issues as he refers everyone to go and speak to his lawyer. This, in Riaz’s views, is extremely disappointing behavior from a cricketer who represented Pakistan for a long period. It remains to be seen how and when Moin Khan responds to all these allegations.
