Five positive aspects Pakistan can take from the World Cup

Pakistan cricket team ended their unfortunate World Cup journey as they could not qualify for the semi-finals despite some good performances from them in the mega-event. Their start to the world cup was an awful one but the way they came back was quite commendable.

The fans suffering from the cricket hysteria were disappointed as they could not see their team playing in the knock-out stage. But Pakistan cricket team still can take some positives from their journey in England and Wales.

• Their wins against the top-sides

Mercurial Pakistan-one minute down, next minute up was on display during the start of the World Cup when they came back from the horror of defeat against the Windies and outclassed the world cup favourites "England" at the Trent Bridge. Not only England, but they also vanquished over South Africa in a one-sided encounter. New Zealand was unbeaten until they faced unpredictable Pakistan at the Edgbaston.

• The heroes of middle-order

Pakistan can take a lot of positives from the performances of Haris Sohail and Babar Azam, who did well in the middle-order. Haris Sohail was not tested early on, but when given chance, he was unstoppable. Babar also won Pakistan a game against New Zealand with his career-best century.  Pakistan can look up to these two players in the future which can carry the team through thick and thins.

• Worth-watching performance of the left-arm quicks

Pakistani left-arm quicks were a treat to watch throughout the Cricket World Cup 2019. Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Wahab Riaz were terrific with the ball in hand. Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was brilliant in the match against New Zealand and Afghanistan, is surely a future prospect for Pakistan. Mohammad Amir's redemption is a good sign for Pakistan cricket team. On the other hand, Wahab Riaz might be playing his last few games but he is ending his journey on a high.

• Finishers at the depth

After a long wait, Pakistan has started to find depth in their batting line in the shape of Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hassan Ali, and Wahab Riaz. Wahab Riaz and Hassan Ali almost won Pakistan the game against Australia with their belligerent batting. On the other hand, Imad Wasim was the hero of the match against Afghanistan along with Wahab Riaz. These are good signs for a team who is generally not known for its batting abilities.

• Pakistan's resurgence from chaos

It is known about Pakistan cricket team, that once they are pushed against the wall, they start to play their best brand of cricket. Pakistan team showed some great fights in the tournament including their victory against New Zealand in a crucial game and that too on a tricky surface. That shows that this team has got the fighting spirit existing through the young blood. It is just about the matter of few right calls and execution. Pakistan might become an impeccable team in the coming future.
