A lot of eyebrows were raised when teenage pacer Mohammad Hasnain was drafted into the final Pakistan squad for the World Cup. He was talked up highly by the selectors for his searing pace and labeled as the team’s surprise package who could stun opponents.
However, the youngster could not get a single game all throughout the tournament as other pacers were preferred over him. Former Pakistan cricketer Bazid Khan took to Twitter to direct a sarcastic remark to the team management for continuously ignoring Hasnain after he was left out of the game against Bangladesh.
Bazid mentioned he was still waiting for Pakistan to unveil their ‘surprise package’. The lack of experience and good performances of other bowlers ultimately worked against Hasnain as he remained bereft of the opportunity to get a World Cup debut.
