Zimbabwe cricket banned by ICC for political intervention

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has always been quite strict about political intervention in the cricket boards of the member countries as every board’s constitution prohibits any kind of political influence over a cricket board.

Zimbabwe Cricket could face a suspension from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after the sports and recreation commission of Zimbabwean government suspended the whole cricket board and appointed an interim committee to run the operations.

The committee has complained about the absence of staff from their offices after the abolishment of the board while it is still unclear who would represent the country in ICC’s next meeting in London.

There is a possibility that Zimbabwe Cricket might not face the ban from ICC as it would affect the livelihood of players and the recent cases of Nepal and the United States of America (USA) might favor them in the meeting.
