In the aftermath of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament’s exit, many cricket pundits including former cricketers demanded the removal of head coach Mickey Arthur along with few other changes. However, credible media sources claimed an entire opposite story.
Established last year, the cricket committee formed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suggested the board to continue with same skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and head coach Mickey Arthur. The group opined that changes should be gradual rather than haphazard as it can affect the team negatively. However, modifications in the selection committee are expected along with few players getting dropped to earn their place back by performing in domestic circuit.
As per reports, Mickey will witness an extension in his contract till ICC T20 World Cup 2020. In this regard, PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan and Chairman Ehsan Mani will have a meeting with the 51-year old where Mickey is going to present team’s report for the championship being played in England and Wales. It is important to note that the Johannesburg born has already shown his willingness to continue working with Pakistan team.
