Marching towards another World Cup final, the high quality Australian side has been jolted a bit as the reliable top-order batsman Usman Khawaja and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis suffered hamstring and side strain issues respectively. Both the injuries came up during Australia’s last league fixture against South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament.
These injuries obviously have dented Australia’s plans for the knock-out stage of the ongoing championship in England and Wales. To cover the two players, Kangaroos have called wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to join the yellow team in England. Knowing the abilities of the two players, the bunch will stay confident to rope the two cricketers if there is any need, but there hasn’t been an official confirmation.
Despite being down and out in ODIs in last year or so, Australia recorded a historic comeback in the biggest cricket gala, and now the unit is focused to win their 6th World Cup title. Australia’s latest challenge consists of downing a supreme England side on July 11 at Birmingham.
