Speaking to the media for this first time after reaching Pakistan, skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed displayed content with his team’s overall performance in the World Cup. The captain admitted that Pakistan didn’t turn up in the first five matches but made a strong comeback in latter half of the tournament.
“I think we were unfortunate to miss out on the semi-final spot because of net run-rate,” said Sarfaraz. “We did not play well in the first few matches but made a good comeback in the second half of the tournament. I’m satisfied with the team’s overall performance.”
Pakistan had a nightmare start to their World Cup campaign where they were all out for 105 runs against the West Indies and the thumping defeat badly affected their Net Run Rate.
