Pakistan were unlucky to miss out on a spot in the semi-finals after winning four games on the trot in the latter half of the group stage. Pakistan were quite mediocre in their first few matches of the tournament, gaining triumphs in just one game in after partaking in five clashes.
Nevertheless, young leg-spinner Shadab Khan claimed to be satisfied with his team’s performance and comeback in the last few games. He believed this depicted the players’ strong character and resolve to fight back from a tough situation.
“Overall our performance was good or even strong in the last few matches. We as a team tried hard to overcome our mistakes and wanted to make it to the final fours,” Shadab told the press in Islamabad.
However, Shadab did not have too much an impressive outing with both bat and ball as he did not really come up with a match-winning performance.
