Despite showing a lot of promise, Afghanistan failed to seize the pressure moments in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament where the spirited side experienced a winless run in the 9 league games. The blue team came close to upset Pakistan and India, but the inexperience was clear which saw the heavyweights winning these contests.
After a chaotic performance in the biggest cricket gala, Afghanistan is all set to host West Indies for three ODIs, three T20Is and a solitary Test in November. It is important to note that Afghanistan will host this series in India which is considered as their second home. This would be Afghanistan’s third appearance in the longest format of the game. Earlier, they were thumped by India in their debut Test match, but came out victorious against Ireland.
West Indies will stay in India a litter longer as they are lined up to battle India for three ODIs and as many T20Is. Nevertheless, the series presents Afghanistan an ideal opportunity to prove their mettle and get back on the winning track.
