Despite registering a stunning comeback in the second half of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Pakistan was thrown out of the competition. The boys in green were tied with New Zealand on 11 points after 9 games, but the net run-rate conundrum came back to bite them and ended their World Cup journey.
Cricket enthusiasts are recently dissecting Pakistan’s performance in the biggest cricket gala taking place in England and Wales. Former Pakistan batsman Bazid Khan is no exception as he shared his views by stating that Pakistan’s poor team selection costed them a semi-final berth.
Currently working as a commentator and TV analyst, the 38-year old opined that it took Pakistan 3 to 4 games to find their best playing eleven and by that time, damage was done. Bazid went on to recall the game against Australia where Pakistan let go of a good position to allow defending champions to register an important victory. However, the 38-year old further admitted that Pakistan punched above their weight in the glitzy event.
