Following the exit from the ICC World Cup after failing to reach the semi-final position, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has faced backlash from the public who demanded him to resign.
One of the names being popped by the media as possible replacement of Sarfaraz is of all-rounder, Imad Wasim. The all-rounder had a decent World Cup where he managed to contribute significantly in Pakistan's cause. However, the all-rounder has dismissed the reports suggesting him to take over Sarfaraz's captaincy charge stating that he is not in a race for captaincy position.
In response to a question regarding "whether he was in the race to become captain", Wasim said: "I'm not a horse."
Imad Wasim has had experience of captaining Pakistan Super League franchise Karachi Kings and also captained Pakistan side in two ODIs against Australia in the UAE. Furthermore, he also dismissed the notion of grouping in the team saying that he knows Sarfaraz for 15 years.
