Ian Bishop wants West Indies to emulate India’s planning

A major reason of India’s massive success in the International cricket is a strong domestic cricket system led by extremely able professionals. Things continued to get brighter for the men in blue as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently hired former Indian captain Rahul Dravid as head of cricket operations at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Seeing this decision moved ex-West Indian pacer Ian Bishop to applaud India’s mechanism. The cricketer turned commentator felt a bit envious to see India setting an effective channel to ameliorate the skills of the upcoming cricketers of the country.

Sharing his views on his official Twitter handle, the 51-year old added that the governing body of cricket in West Indies needs to take a leaf out of India’s book and utilize the greats of the country to help the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Oshane Thomas, Shimron Hetmyer and others. In this way, West Indies can upgrade the skill-set of their current crop of players to improve the strength of their unit. Moreover, the Trinidad born wants to see West Indies cricket restoring its lost pride.
