Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar was subjected to vehement public backlash for calling Ravindra Jadeja a 'bits and pieces cricketer' recently. Following a superlative performance from the all-rounder in the semi-final against New Zealand, Manjrekar has finally accepted his mistake and praised the player by saying that Jadeja “ripped him apart by bits and pieces”.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) uploaded a video featuring Manjrekar reviewing the Old Trafford game with Niall O’Brien and Ian Smith. "This is the Jadeja we haven't seen before. Today he was brilliant,” Manjrekar can be heard saying in the clip.
Jadeja displayed a fantastic all-round performance delivering for his team in all three departments of the game. His fighting innings of 77 in quick time almost led India to the final but nevertheless included his famous ‘sword celebration’ when he reached his half-century.
Earlier, Jadeja had called out Manjrekar for his “bits and pieces” remark and criticized his commentary telling him to “learn to respect people.”
