Pakistan’s batting talent Imam-ul-Haq has perhaps learned to live being continuously hated by a vast majority. Despite scoring heaps of runs including 7 tons and 6 half-centuries in just 36 ODI innings, the prolific batsman is often found in a pool of criticism as his selection is considered to be fueled by nepotism.
Even in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, the opening batsman scored 305 runs at 38 to end as the second highest run-getter for Pakistan. Nevertheless, followers of Pakistan cricket were still dejected as Imam faced harsh questions in an interactive session with media.
On being questioned about his fortune if the selection committee gets replaced, the Lahore born added that his fortune rests in the hands of Almighty and no one can take that away. Imam justified his place in the green team as he opined that his job is to do well for the national team and the rest of the issues don’t concern him. Moreover, the Lahore born added that all this hate has made him mentally strong as he is looking to serve Pakistan for a long period.
