Australia were outclassed by England in the semi-final clash at Edgbaston, knocking them out of the World Cup. The Aussie bowlers were completely thrashed by England’s Jason Roy, who launched an aggressive stroke play from the get-go.
Relishing England’s dominance over the arch-rivals, former skipper Michael Vaughan could not keep himself from expressing his happiness on Twitter and engaging in his typical banter style. Taking a dig at Australia’s ‘bonding exercise’ of walking barefoot in the ground ahead of the match, Vaughan suggested the bowlers should also try to play barefoot.
Vaughan’s sarcastic jibe, however, did not go down well with Aussie legend Adam Gilchrist who called Vaughan an “idiot” on the social media platform. The Twitter battle did not end here as the England batsman replied with a hilarious gif of a foot.
