Despite being a low-scoring game, the 1st semi-final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament provided a lot of thrill. It was the courage and shrewdness of the Kiwis which prevailed over the strength of India to give New Zealand a chance of winning their maiden 50-over World Cup title.
After the game, the Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson was found jubilant as he was immensely proud of his unit to deliver a memorable performance on a grand occasion. The proficient player added that cricket is all about doing well on a given day and that happened as New Zealand knocked out the top team of the points table despite finishing at 4th. Moreover, the 28-year old has no plans to drop the intensity as he looks hungry to win his first World Cup.
“It was a great semi-final played in 2 days and I’m very pleased to end up on the right side. Coming into the semis, we were underdogs, but it is always about going strong on that particular day. I’m proud of my team, and hopefully we can do well and bring the trophy this time,” said by Kane Williamson as he shared satisfaction on his team’s performance.
