Former Indian skipper and wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has been under the pump of late due to his uncharacteristic batting during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as he played a couple of sluggish innings which went against the team eventually.
Yograj Singh, father of former Indian allrounder Yuvraj Singh, has hit out at the veteran cricketer for not taking the lead in attacking the New Zealand bowlers at a time when the run rate was creeping up in the all-important semifinal.
“Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, you have played so much cricket. Don’t you have any sense about what to do and what not? Did Yuvraj ever tell any other player to play the shots as you do? You got so many half-volleys, you hit huge sixes, what happened to you at that moment? Were you worried? You should have got out. What difference would it have made?” he said.
