Pakistan’s exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament also witnessed the end of all-rounder Shoaib Malik’s ODI career. After already bidding farewell to red-ball cricket, the veteran player is only available to ply his trade in the shortest format of the game.

After a prolonged career, it was Malik’s ultimate wish to win the 50-over World Cup with Pakistan as he already claimed glory in T20 World Cup along with Champions Trophy. Despite carrying a shoddy record batting in England, fans backed the 37-year old to overcome his horrors. But, it wasn’t the case as Malik looked miserable scoring only 8 runs in his 3 World Cup innings.

Former Pakistan captain bagged two ducks to average only 2.67 which ended his 50-over career in a horrendous manner. Nevertheless, Malik is expected to play the next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia which might serve as his swansong International tournament. By producing an elite performance in that cricket frenzy, the adroit cricketer would hope to call it a day in a graceful manner.
