Pakistan is often found in news for producing strong fast-bowling talents. However, the last edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) saw the emergence of a sensational spin bowling talent known by the name of Umer Khan.
Playing for Karachi Kings, the left-arm adroit spinner made his PSL debut against Multan Sultans and the prowess of him was clearly on display. The wonder kid of PSL competed with the likes of Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz and Faheem Ashraf before ending the tournament as the highest wicket-taker for Karachi Kings. What makes it all even more astonishing is the fact that he occupied the emerging place quota but looked to belong to the biggest stage of the game.
Umer’s 11 scalps included him hunting the price wickets of players like Ab de Villiers, Shane Watson, Corey Anderson and Luke Ronchi, which spoke about his mettle. With T20 World Cup scheduled next year in Australia, forthcoming season of Pakistan biggest T20 frenzy would be an ideal platform for Umer to make a strong case for his selection in the national team.
