Pakistan’s World Cup campaign may have ended in the first round but they still have a lot of positives to carry on to the future which looks bright considering the amount of talented youngsters the squad possesses.
Imam-ul-Haq and Shaheen Afridi were the stars of Pakistan’s clinical win against Bangladesh in what proved to be their final match of the competition. The young duo was at the peak of their abilities as they produced brilliant performances to hammer the Tigers by a massive 94-run margin of victory.
Imam scored an emphatic hundred while Shaheen established the record for best bowling figures by a Pakistan player at a World Cup game with 6/35. In recognition of their heroic exploits at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, their names have been engraved at the Lord’s Honors Board for eternity – a momentous achievement at such a young age.
