Babar Azam was the best performer from Pakistan all throughout the World Cup with his classy strokes and calm temperament. Babar entered the tournament with a lot of hype surrounding his batting caliber and he did justice to his immense talent by breaking the record for most number of runs scored by a Pakistani player in a single World Cup edition.
Now, the 24-year-old will be seen in action at England’s premier T20 competition – the Vitality Blast – where he will be representing Somerset. Singing praises of his compatriot, left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq took to Twitter to wish Babar the best of luck for his debut in England’s County circuit.
The two were involved in healthy stands in the World Cup, especially a century partnership in the 94-run win against Bangladesh in their final game. Forming the bedrock of Pakistan’s top order, Imam and Babar have been the country’s mainstay for their supreme batting performances.
