Asif Iqbal shares an advice for subcontinent cricket fans

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan came into the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament with massive expectations. While India rampaged through oppositions to enter the semis, Pakistan failed to make it to the final-four despite a late resurgence. Nevertheless, both the Asian giants were thrown out of World Cup race which saw harsh reactions from fans.

Seeing all this moved Asif Iqbal to share a message for the subcontinent cricket fans particularly the Indo-Pak cricket junkies. Former Pakistan captain opined that cricket fans in this part of the world are too emotional as they make you hero one day, while declaring you a zero on another. The 76-year old urged the fans to adopt a sane policy with which they should criticize someone in a graceful manner.

Discouraging the culture of abusing and insulting playing on defeats, the India born advised everyone to let bygones be bygones. In addition to that, Asif hoped to see the cricketers from both sides of the border being welcomed in good spirit by all the fans. The shrewd cricketer also reflected on World Cup journey of India and Pakistan and congratulated them for registering a good show in the mega-event.
