After a gutsy campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Bangladesh is lined up to play Sri Lanka for a three-game ODI series. However, the team would miss the experience of Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan along with belligerence of Mohammad Saifuddin and Liton Das.
In this regard, Tamim Iqbal called on the inexperienced squad to grab their chances in the forthcoming series. The opening batsman who will be leading Bangladesh for the first time ever in ODI cricket sees the series as a massive opportunity for the young crop of the country to perform and cement their place in the national team.
Lauding the quality of Sri Lankan team and highlighting their dominance in the home conditions, the 30-year-old added that Bangladesh will have to be at the top of their game to do well.
Nevertheless, he recalled Bangladesh’s past and recent success to inspire the unit as he aims to down Sri Lanka with a young squad. The three-match series will commence on July 26 with a game at Premadasa Stadium of Colombo.
