Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
With the advent of franchise-based T20 leagues, players are usually witnessed plying their trade for various teams. However, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is adamant to have Indian players playing only the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Recently, retired Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh made his way to the Global T20 Canada which inspired former Indian spinner Anil Kumble as he wants the governing body of Indian cricket to allow the influx of Indian players in overseas T20 leagues.
The Bangalore born opined that allowing players to participate in such leagues would help them ameliorate their skills as rubbing shoulders with different players and playing in different conditions could prove pivotal to their growth.
“People like Yuvi (Yuvraj) got the permission to play (in Global T20 Canada). So, I really don’t see an issue if these players want to go and play. Perhaps, we will see more players from India participating in leagues in future,” said by 48-year old as he expresses his wish to see Indian players making it to the other T20 leagues.
