Prolific Australia Women’s all-rounder Ellyse Perry has helped her side retain the Ashes title after drawing the sole Test match against England Women in Taunton. Perry’s batting heroics were the standout performance in the game as she exhibited an exuberant display of strokes across both innings.
The 28-year-old struck 116 and 78 not out to knock off any hopes of the English to regain the Ashes title. Perry had also accumulated an unbeaten double century in the last Ashes Test down under, becoming the first female cricketer to strike three 75+ scores in succession in Tests.
Australia had earlier swept aside the hosts in the three-match ODI series, and now with the drawn Test remain unbeaten throughout the tour. With the T20I series in sight, England would be hoping to recoup some lost pride.
