The newly appointed Afghanistan captain, Rashid Khan has set his eyes on the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia after their dismal performance in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019, in the United Kingdom.
Rashid has pointed out the team’s fitness and preparation as two key areas that need to be worked on extensively in order to improve at the world stage. The leg-spinner believes Afghanistan need to be more prepared both game-wise and mentally, to deal with high pressure situations.
"That (2023 World Cup) is something that is a very big challenge for us. As I said, we have the skills and talent, but we need to improve. We need to know how to play against the big teams and what should be the proper preparation against them,” Rashid said.
