Indian skipper Virat Kohli has maintained his stronghold over the number one spot in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen in the updated list. Having last featured in India’s historic series win in Australia earlier this year, Kohli sits atop the prestigious roster with 922 points to his name.
Kohli averages over 53 in the longest format across 77 games, testifying his revered status in international cricket. The next Test assignment for India will be in the West Indies, and Kohli would be looking to extend his dominance as the world’s best batsman.
He is followed closely by New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson in the second spot in the rankings who is at 913 points while compatriot and Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara occupies the third slot.
