The Australian cricket team is preparing for the all-important Ashes series with a pool of 25 players who are competing against each other in practice games in order to justify claims for several positions up for grabs.
With the squad announcement a couple of days away, former Australian leg-spinning legend Shane Warne has predicted his final squad for both teams. Warne selected a couple of surprise names in his squad as he preferred form over experience.
Warne feels that Australia should open with Marcus Harris and David Warner as both have been in great form with the bat of late. Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Travis Head, and Matthew Wade formed the middle order of Warne’s side while Tim Paine was at his usual number 8 position, leading the tail.
The pace attack was quite unpredictable as Warne picked James Pattinson and Pat Cummins as his front-line bowlers with Nathan Lyon as the only spinning option. However, the veteran said that one of the two fast bowling stalwarts, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, must play in the side but not both.
