India’s off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin shook the cricket fraternity after bowling one of his mystery deliveries during the first match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). The 32-year-old is known to experiment with his craft and doesn’t hesitate before slipping in leg-spinners or even medium-pace deliveries just to mix things up.
The off-spinner delivered the ball without a full action as his non-bowling arm remained unmoved and he completed the run-up by releasing the ball on his left foot. This unusual action by the 32-year-old got him the wicket as the batsman tried to hit it down the ground but ended up hitting straight to the fielder.
The 32-year-old then bowled a second delivery that mimicked the bowling style of fellow spinner Kedar Jadhav. The ball was released at a relatively lower point and almost got him a wicket. Ashwin helped his team, Dindigul Dragons to win against Chepauk Super Gillies by 10 runs.
