Recording an impressive campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Bangladesh is set to take on Sri Lanka in a three-game ODI series. A recent development has been made in this regard as the pace bowler Shafiul Islam has been added to the Bangladeshi squad.

This move obviously augmented the strength of Bangladesh’s pace battery as the squad now stands at 15 instead of 14. Shafiul was earlier a part of Bangladesh A team which is busy playing Afghanistan A side for a five-game one-day series.
It was 2017 when the 29-year old last played for Bangladesh. The reinstallation in the national team excited him to the core as he sits confident to do well against Sri Lanka if given the opportunity. First ODI of the three-game series will take place on July 26, while the next two contests will be staged on July 28 and 31 respectively. All three matches are day-night affairs which are set to be hosted by Premadasa Stadium of Colombo.
