Pakistan Women’s star batter Javeria Khan has been appointed captain of the Women’s Global Development Squad that is scheduled to play six T20 matches on a tour of England, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced.
The WDGS squad boasts international players from seven different countries, who will partake in the week-long tour of England. The six T20 games will be followed by two games each against ECB Super League teams Southern Vipers and Surrey Stars.
The WDGS squad is part of the initiative launched by ICC to provide exposure to female cricketers residing outside the leading countries and help towards the developing their skillset and the overall quality of the game. This is the third such tour which began in July 2018.
