The recent match between England and Ireland saw the newly appointed Test side collapse in a spectacular fashion to a paltry score 38 in their pursuit of the target of 182 in the fourth innings. Ireland have thus joined the unwanted list of teams who have been bowled out in a single session.
Interestingly, England were earlier also bundled out in one session when the opening morning of the one-off Test saw them lose all their 10 wickets for a score of 85. Despite the major setback, they were able to recover well and in the end complete a comprehensive win over Ireland.
The intriguing statistic from all this scenario is that Pakistan is now the only team to have never been bowled out in a single session of a Test match. This surely is a surprising stat considering Pakistan’s batting is generally known to be highly prone to collapses.
